Since 2007, five sessions of Kubuqi International Desert Forum have been held by UNEP, United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification, Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC, Forestry Bureau and Government of Inner Mongolia, which were co-organized by the Government of Erdos and Elion Foundation. As the world’s only international forum for worldwide desertification prevention & control and desert economy and culture development, it has been included in the agreement by UN as an important platform and approach for the world to prevent and control desertification.
Achievements made by Elion in ecological economic development of desert have been praised by the whole world. It won the title of “Global Desertification Control Leader” at 2013 UN Desertification Prevention & Control Conference, achieving the consensus on “Learning from Elion in terms of Global Desertification Control and Greening”, securing its leadership in the desert economy industry and becoming the totem of China in global ecological competition.
